Area Forester

The Area Forester will provide support to Stimsonâ s Libby, MT unit. Working in conjunction with the Area Woodlands Manager, this position will play an important role in supporting the growing Montana operations.
  • Plan and execute on the ground activities pertaining to the Montana Fee management unit (harvest planning, preparation, road construction and maintenance, other related activities).
  • Implement and attain annual timber harvest targets.
  • Collaborate with Stimsonâ s Real Estate, GIS/Inventory, Log Procurement, Silviculture staff and other Unit Managers.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and administer individual contracts to carry out forest management activities.
  • Prepare, monitor and provide input for budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist in oversight of harvesting and road construction on agency timber contracts.
  • Partner with suppression agencies for planning, related land use and fire protection.
  • Supervise and train assistant(s) of the unit.
  • Implement company policies while managing activities and personnel in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations. Actively participate in all audits for compliance.
  • A 4-year degree in forest resource management is required. Preferably in one of the forestry disciplines.
  • A minimum of 7-years of field experience in forestland management, including supervisory and operational responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Inland forest silvicultural practices, operational costs, and log markets.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, Montana forestry laws and guidelines.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to relocate within 20-minutes of Libby, MT and become a Montana resident.
  • Have and maintain a valid driverâ s license.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
