Home Health Aide - Hospice

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully completes home visit competency.
  • Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient while respecting the patient s home and personal property.
  • Works independently under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Exhibits dependability, responsibility, and flexibility with the scheduling process and confirmed working schedule.
  • Assists with the care of the dying patient and is respectful to family/caregiver or others and interpersonal issues.
  • Informs Home Health Team Leader/Supervisor or designee of pertinent changes in patient status.
  • Exhibits competency in essential (high volume, high risk) job functions.
  • Provides appropriate patient care skillfully as outlined on the Aide Assignment sheet and according to department policies.
  • Proficient in in basic personal care skills to include, but not limited to; bathing, hair care, grooming, ambulation/exercise, ADLs, and other specialized tasks.
  • Proficient in all housekeeping functions to include, but not limited to; meal prep, food storage, and light housekeeping to maintain a clean environment, etc.
  • Performs as a caregiver in all Home Options departments
  • Qualifications

  • Current Montana Certified Nurse Aide (CAN) certification.
  • Current Home Health Aide certification preferred.
  • Current HS AED CPR Certification preferred or must successfully obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Must possess a valid driver s license; a good driving record clear of moving violations in the past five (5) years and no major driving offenses (DUI, etc.). Must possess and maintain current insurance on vehicle.
  • Home Health and Hospice experience preferred.
  • Must possess professional communication skills, and work effectively with a diverse customer and coworker population.


  • Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
